1) The difference that we make: As far as I know, the Flyathlon is one of only a few races that raises money to improve the natural resources that we depend on. To us, that means educating people about native trout, improving access to fish for them in a responsible way, and improving and expanding habitat for those native trout to persist into the future. We do this through a crowdfunding model by which our flyathletes raise money for our conservation partners, Colorado Trout Unlimited and the Western Native Trout Initiative. In 2016, participants in the Middle Creek Flyathlon raised nearly $25,000 for these projects, a staggering amount of money. Additionally, with more than 400 individual donors, our message of native trout conservation reached a diverse audience around the country.
A huge shout out for our top fundraisers of the Middle Creek Flyathlon. They really get why we put this race on, and bend over backwards to make our impact significant…
