Here is the calendar for 2016.

Trail Building Event
When: June 10th-12th, 2016
Where: Saguache, CO
Number of Participants:  40
Details:  During this event, we will be partnering with Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC) to rehabilitate several miles of trail accessing Rio Grande cutthroat trout waters in the Indian Creek / East Middle Creek / Middle Creek drainage.  Volunteers will help close user created social trails, install signs, build rock drainage structures, widen and rebuild trail tread, clear blowdown trees and other obstacles and build cairns to demarcate the intended route as it travels through open meadows.  Food, beer, camping, and fishing will be provided.  THIS EVENT WAS AWESOME!

Middle Creek Flyathlon

Fishing Difficulty: EASY
Running Difficulty: MODERATE
When: August 12th-14th, 2016
Where: Saguache, CO
Number of Participants:  60
Details:  The Middle Creek Flyathlon is our flagship event, now in its third year.  As many of you know, the purpose of the Flyathlon is to get people out onto creeks that they wouldn’t ordinarily fish to have fun and raise money for native fish-related projects (through Colorado Trout Unlimited and the Western Native Trout Initiative).  This year will be even more awesome than last, and we hope to have a good blend of familiar faces and newbies.  And fewer rattlesnakes.  And more beer.  As in 2015, there will be long and short course options for this race, but the long course is expected to be even more difficult than last year.

Lake Fork Flyathlon
Fishing Difficulty: MODERATE
Running Difficulty: EASY
: September 23rd-25th, 2016
Where: Gunnison, CO
Number of Participants:  60
Details:  This will be the first year that we are holding a second Flyathlon race in Colorado.  The Lake Fork course will feature a much easier (though still scenic) run.  The fishing experience will be different as well, with no native fish to speak of, but much larger water harboring much larger brown trout and rainbow trout.  There will be some interesting twists in this new event, and we look forward to its debut.  Like Middle Creek Flyathlon this event will be a fundraiser for native fish projects through our partnership with Colorado Trout Unlimited.  If you sign up, plan to raise some money for native fish!
